Hey, wake up, it’s 2006
Memories⌗
You walk into the local video store.
The room is quite empty, maybe just a couple of people, staring at the shelves. Everything is quiet, you just hear the noise of the door bell 🔔.
You pick a dvd, and rent it for 3.5$.
You come back home, eat dinner, and you are ready to sit on your couch and relax for the rest of the night.
You don’t know what your friends are doing.
You don’t know what’s happening outside.
This evening, it’s just you and your family watching a movie.
Thoughts⌗
Hello erveryone.
I know I’m just 22 years old, but I still have memories of the early 2000’s. Sometimes they just come up to me, and make me feel really nostalgic. There was a time when Netflix did not exist yet, and people used to rent dvds at the local video store. Once you picked the movie, you had to watch it, or the money that you spent were just waisted. There was a sort of “commitment” that you felt when taking the movie from the shelf.
Today, if what you are watching does not get yout attention, you just stop, and start something else.
If you think about it, this does not happen only with movies.
Honestly, sometimes I miss being disconnected from the world like back in the days.
Hope you are doing well,
Matteo 🐨
